Questions & answers

Everything guests usually ask before a stay at Peralta — booking, arrival, the houses and the hamlet. Can’t find your answer? We’re always happy to help.

Booking & payment

How do I book a house?

Every house page has a live availability calendar. Choose your dates, confirm the guest details, and pay the deposit through our secure checkout to confirm — you’ll receive an instant confirmation by email.

What deposit do you take?

A deposit of 30% of the rental fee is payable to secure the booking, with the remaining 70% balance due no later than 45 days before arrival. For bookings made within 45 days of arrival, the full amount is payable at the time of booking.

Which payment methods do you accept?

The balance can be paid by bank transfer or credit card (a 2% card processing fee applies). All payments are in euros.

Is my booking confirmed straight away?

Yes. Once the deposit is paid the dates are held for you immediately and you’ll get a confirmation with everything you need for your stay.

Is there a tourist tax?

A local tourist tax of €1.50 per person, per night applies to stays between 1 June and 30 September, for the first seven nights of the stay. Children under 14 are exempt. This is not included in the rental price and is collected separately.

Cancellations & changes

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations must be notified in writing to contact@peraltatuscany.com. As full payment falls due 45 days before arrival:

  • for any cancellation made more than 45 days before arrival, the 30% deposit is retained as compensation and any balance already paid is refunded;
  • for any cancellation made 45 days or fewer before arrival, 100% of the total reservation amount is retained.

Can I change my dates after booking?

We’ll always try to help. Date changes are subject to availability across the season — just write to us as early as you can and we’ll do our best to move your stay.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

We strongly recommend arranging comprehensive travel insurance, including cancellation cover and cover for your party’s personal belongings and public liability, as these are not covered by our insurance.

Arrival & your stay

When is Peralta open?

Individual bookings are open from 30 April to 3 November. For a group taking the whole hamlet, ask us about other dates.

What are your check-in and check-out times?

The holiday rental begins at 4:00pm local time on the day of arrival and ends at 10:00am local time on the day of departure. For arrivals after 10:00pm, please give at least 24 hours’ notice: a €30 late arrival fee applies.

How do we collect the keys?

Ring Blaise when you’re 15 minutes away. Give him a call as you near Agliano, so he can be in the car park to meet you, help with your bags, and guide you in on the last stretch.

Is there a minimum stay?

It depends on the house and the dates. The booking calendar on each house’s page shows the minimum stay for the nights you choose.

From: The house pages

Can we bring our dog?

Well-behaved dogs are welcome, provided they are small or medium sized (under approximately 32kg). Prior confirmation is required: please tell us the number of dogs, their size and any other relevant information. A €40 fee applies per animal staying at Peralta.

Are children welcome?

Very much so — but the medieval hamlet is built on a hillside with steps, terraces and level changes, and the pool is shared, so families with very young children should keep that in mind. We’re happy to advise on the best house for you.

The houses

Are the houses air-conditioned?

Many of our properties are equipped with air conditioning heat/cool and central heating, perfect for chilly evenings. Check the listings.

Is there Wi-Fi?

Yes — there’s Wi-Fi throughout the houses and around the borgo. It’s reliable for email, streaming and the occasional working day, though this is a hillside in Tuscany, not a city centre.

Is the pool shared?

The swimming pool is set on a terrace above the hamlet and is shared with the other guests staying at Peralta. The pool is not large, measuring 8m x 3.50m, but deep enough to enjoy it.

Is there parking, and help with luggage?

Private parking, free and exclusive to guests, sits at the entrance to the estate — open-air, with no height restrictions. A three-wheeled Ape carries bags between the parking and your house, 9:00 am – 8:30 pm.

Getting here

What is the nearest airport?

Pisa airport, about 45 min by car; Florence is about 1 hr 35. Trains run from Viareggio station to Lucca, Florence and along the coast.

Do we need a car?

A small car is ideal for the hill, though a larger one will make it up without trouble. We'd take the extra daily insurance, too — a sensible precaution in Italy.

From: Driving to Peralta

Yes — we can arrange a private airport transfer or car hire on request. Just let us know your flight details and we’ll take care of it.
