The way up to the borgo, made simple — landmark by landmark, all the way to our gate.
Set your sat-nav to
Via di Agliano Peralla, 1091
55041 Camaiore (LU), Italy
Your navigation app will bring you up the hills to Peralta with this address alone. To keep you off the smaller back roads on the way, though, we'd start by aiming for the Famila supermarket in Camaiore — and follow the landmarks below from there.
Where to park
Recommended
Drive right up to our private car park, leave the car there and walk the short path to Peralta, where we'll be waiting to welcome you. Travelling with a lot of luggage? We'll happily bring it up in our little three-wheel truck.

Prefer not to drive the final climb? Park in the public car park at the very start of Agliano. Just let us know, and we'll come down to meet you with the truck.

A small car is ideal for the hill, though a larger one will make it up without trouble. We'd take the extra daily insurance, too — a sensible precaution in Italy.
Have a look at the map on peraltatuscany.com before you leave, to familiarise yourself with exactly where we are in the hills.
Let us know which day and roughly what time you'll arrive, so we're expecting you — then call Blaise when you're about 15 minutes away.
There's no rush on the climb. Drop into first gear, enjoy the woods and the views, and arrive unhurried — the way Peralta is best met.

A good place to do your shopping if you haven't already, with a large car park to pull into. Stop here, take a breath, then set your device to Peralta for the climb. From this point the way up is easy — just follow the landmarks.

Six simple moves take you from the roundabout outside Famila to the woods below Agliano. Each one is marked by something you can see.
From the roundabout by the supermarket, follow Via Roma east for 360 metres, then turn left onto Via di Rosi, following the signs for Agliano.
Follow the road until you reach a cemetery on your left. The road continues past it, climbs uphill to the right, then swings back round to the left.
A church stands above you on the right. Follow the Peralta sign to the right, up past the church, until you come into a large open area with the church on your right-hand side.
Ahead of you is an arch and a shrine to the Madonna set into the wall. Turn left here — the sign says Buchignano.
Climb for about 900 metres, giving a gentle hoot on the corners to warn anyone coming down — the road is narrow. At the Y-fork, a signpost marks Via di Agliano Peralla to the left. Ignore the "no through road" sign and take the left fork.
Carry on winding through the lovely woods; the road swings round to the right. A straight stretch with another "no through road" sign ahead is your final approach — up to the hamlet of Agliano, and then our car park.
