CINQUE TERRE

Spend a day exploring the infamous Italian Coast. Several choices on how to do this:

  • By car, drive to the villages of Porto Venere or Riomaggiore, passing through La Spezia. You can easily park in public parking available in the villages. (about 1 hour drive from Peralta)

OUR FAVORITES

Our two recommendations are visiting the villages of Porto Venere (https://www.parconaturaleportovenere.it/#) and Vernazza. There is an excellent restaurant on the wild island of Palmeria facing Porto Venere (Locanda Lorena) if you feel like escaping for a while.

The restaurant has its own wooden motor launch which takes you across the bay to the island, taking about ten minutes. The boat waits at the end of the quay that sticks out in front of the cafes as you arrive in the village.

Once on the island, you can walk up to the fort in the middle or take a circular path around the island (approx. 2 hours). Lovely walks, lovely views. There is also a boat trip lasting 45 mins around the 3 islands. Fascinating rock formations etc. Well worth visiting the church on the rocks at the end of the Village of Porto Venere.
